Here's what Desi has to say about the Creative Arts:

What would you say is the status and perception of art in our society?

“I still believe that we place way too much value on traditional jobs only when opportunities within the creative arts should be equally weighted as creative arts are still very much considered to be “just a hobby”. The rapid increase of creative practitioners is helping to rid the hobby stigma attached to jobs within the creative and cultural industry.”

Being involved in the overall development of young men and women in society how do you think we can improve our artistic products as Caribbean people?

“We should spend time and do more research about how things are done in other parts of the world and make decisions on how we can make some of these applications to ourselves. Also, we should travel for new experiences and greater inspiration.”
