- Engaging in your own Professional Development to enhance the quality of instruction is fundamental to improving reading levels
- Use best practices to introduce students to reading that is fun and enjoyable
- Utilise a variety of activities to engage students in reading: Literacy sessions, reading clubs, field outings, reading corners, storytelling, library visits, acting out stories etc.
- Showcase the sharing of best practices within OECS
- Connect with literacy specialists and ELP Coordinators in your area to guide you
- Focus on child-centred learning activities.
- Implement the revised formative assessment and summative assessment in your classroom so that you know the reading level of every student in your class. Differentiate instruction based on this knowledge
