Volcanoes and Trails St. Vincent and the Grenadines: La Soufrière

Short Overview

Located in the northernmost of the island and accessible from within the leeward or windward coast. La Soufriere Volcano is the highest peak at 1274 Meters or 4048 feet.  It is one of the longest and most challenging hikes in St. Vincent. It is an active volcano and the largest of the 3 craters that are present at the summit. La Sou-frière last erupted in 1979 and forced the evacuation of more than 14,000 people.
