Forts and Mills St. Kitts and Nevis: Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park

Short Overview

Dubbed the Gibraltar of the West Indies, this structure is a testament to man’s ingenuity and the hard work and dedication of our forefathers.  Abandoned in the 1850s, a restoration society was formed in 1965 that returned it to the glory we see today. The Fortress sits on 38 ac. of land that is owned by the Government and People of St. Kitts. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999.
