In a region where the development of the arts as a career path is limited, St. Lucia's very own R&B singer Michael Robinson is making waves. This singer/songwriter is bursting with talent and as with many greats his journey began in church. Inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson and Ne-Yo his voice has bloomed from his childhood days of being a back up singer at Streams of Power Tabernacle into one which many persons can identify.
Michael Robinson has collaborated with a number of professionals in his field. One being St. Lucian born Johann ‘Yogi’ Deterville who, in 2011, professionally recorded his first single, 'My Love Song'. After doing work with artists & producers such as Filbert ‘Kayo’ Salton, Francis De Lima , Shayne Ross, Irvin ‘Ace’ Loctor, Tanya Stephens and many others his latest release featuring Grenadian Mr. Killa has our hearts beating to the ‘riddim’.
He has even launched 'MR Designs' which features apparel for both men and women, bearing his logo, which can be customised to the customer's liking.
The passion and soul he pours into what he does is one to be admired. His feel good music, exudes passion and versatility. It's his love for music that keeps him on top of his game producing better quality each time around. This hasn't gone unnoticed as not only has he performed at numerous events throughout the year, he has graced the stage throughout the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival for consecutive years. As he strives to push his career to the next level, by continuing to beat the odds, we wish him well on his journey.
