Donella Power is a 21 year old success driven entrepreneur and support local advocate from Calder Ridge, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She is known for her bubbly personality and friendly demeanor. She is using her knowledge in Business Management and Communication Studies to currently build her handmade bags brand Awali.
She aims to further her studies in Accounting & Finance as well as Fashion Design. Apart from being a quick learner with good work ethic, she enjoys going out and socializing with people. She is most confident in speech and is not afraid to make new friends. Donella has played with various steel bands in St.Vincent but is now a member of the Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra. She has also been a member of the Girl Guides and Rangers Club, the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors Organization and plans to work with Constructive Solutions Inc, a NonProfit in SVG aimed at assisting the population through entrepreneurship.
Donella has always been interested in youth development. Her interest in regional integration developed at a young age. Her involvement in the Methodist Church camps took her to different OECS Islands and peaked her interest in different cultures.
She mainly wanted to be involved in the OECS YES Digital Internship Program so as to get a chance to meet and work with other young people throughout the Caribbean. "I will love to be involved and share my knowledge and culture with other young adults." She had hoped to develop skills and general responsibilities as well as to achieve practical working experience through the internship.
Her experience has been very knowledgeable. She has worked with different persons in the region and even walked away from the internship with a new friend. She was able to practice time management as well as patience and persistence and was ever eager when the internship was extended. Before the internship, she was not aware of certain challenges among the youth in the OECS. Donella is certainly glad to be apart of this diverse platform involving youth through discussions and educating others
