Since its creation in 1997 with the aim of promoting the Dominican tourism product and creating a world-class platform for indigenous Dominican music, Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival has become a renowned staple on the regional music calendar. 
Held over a trinity of enthralling evenings beginning on the final Friday in October each year, the festival is known for its diverse lineup and amazing energy, showcasing musical forms such as Cadence-lypso, Kompa, Zouk, Soukous, Bouyon and Zydeco.
